The one process I enjoy when painting is the new knowledge I glean from my clients.
When my lovely friend passed me her black Fendi 3 Jours satchel bag, and told me she adored Toothless from "How to Train Your Dragon", my first thought was "How now?"
"How to Train Your Dragon" was a movie that I was only vaguely familiar with and thus, the both of us set out on a mission to make Toothless your big friendly dragon friend!
We pondered over numerous images, got Toothless to strike a few different poses for us and tried out various colour combinations (she loves pastels!). My friend filled me in on the background story of the man-made tail fan and I put in a bling in Toothless' eyes to make him all adorable and amiable. And that is what I love about creating customs, the conversations that take place and the owner putting in a bit of their personality in the final piece.
One of the greatest support I get are from family and friends. My lovely friend had so much faith in me, she requested for me to sign off on her bag. It is this love that motivates me on this journey forward.
I especially love this end result: a soft feminine side to a mythical dragon. Who says dragons can't be cute? =)
